Food, Fun, Frolic... without face masks!

Hello, Singers!

You are invited to the Women’s Choral Society Member Appreciation Banquet 2023! This is a special time for members to get together to celebrate another successful, fun year of making music together. It is also an opportunity to recognize our dedicated volunteers who will receive the Galaxy and Star Awards. Former members are also welcome, so if you know someone who has sung with us in the past, please pass on this information to them.

The banquet is a fun, sometimes outrageous, soiree with delicious food and great entertainment. Expect songs, skits, poems and other side-show-worthy attractions - all from the talents of YOU, our members! New members from this season 2022-2023 are encouraged to prepare something together, too. (For communication purposes, a group of the new members will be identified on Harmonysite. Jennifer Barwood will help lead the new members group.) Some of us like to dress up, but that is entirely up to you.

Please contact Cari Lyn Stanton (carilynyes@gmail.com) if you want to be part of the entertainment. She will be scheduling rehearsal time with our accompanist for the evening of Monday June 12th, 6-9 pm. at Community of Christ Church. The accompanist will have a folder of our music for this term, but if you are using other music, please provide a copy in advance of rehearsal and give to Cari Lyn or Gayle. If you need something else from our music library, contact Janis Brew (janisbrew@gmail.com).

Date: Thursday, June 15th, 2023

Time: 5:30 pm. - Social Time; 6:30 - Dinner with entertainment following.

Place: Community of Christ Church, 1485 Gilham Rd., Eugene

Cost: $25 per person, which will cover our costs. 

The deadline for reservations is Saturday, June 3rd, (the day of our concert)

Reservations may be made on-line using a credit card. To purchase tickets, go to our website: womenschoralsociety.org. Select “Member Appreciation Banquet” at the top of the page. Please remember, no guests are allowed who have not been WCS members.

If on-line is not your thing, Gayle will be available before rehearsals beginning Monday, April 24th, to take your reservations. Cash or checks only, please. 

BANQUET MENU: (catered by Mucho Gusto)

FRESH MEXICAN BUFFET: Tacos, Mexican inspired salads or rice bowls.

Chicken or Pork Carnitas, Fried Tortillas (not gluten-free), Rice, Beans (black and pinto), Romaine lettuce (chopped with cabbage), Cheese (cheddar-jack and cotija), Salsas (Pico de Gallo, Tomatillo Chile, Chipotle Corn), Sauces (Lime-Cilantro Sour Cream and Sweet Chipotle Vinaigrette), Guacamole and Corn chips.

The buffet choices should accommodate most dietary needs, however, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Beverages: Mock Strawberry Margaritas, Coffee, Tea, Water. (No alcohol is allowed at this facility.)

Desserts: Provided by our members! We will need about 8-10 people who can bring a dessert or fruit plate to serve 10-12. Please contact me if you are interested in bringing a dessert. If you are bringing a dairy-free or gluten-free dessert, let me know that, too.

Volunteers: Many hands make light work! Let me know if you want to help with set-up or clean-up.

This event is so much fun and many of us look forward to it all year. I hope you can all join in the good time!
