Registration for Fall/Winter Term 2024 is now open!
Come and sing with us! No auditions are required. We welcome all ages and experience levels. Be a part of a community of women who love to sing! Rehearsals are held weekly on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, optional additional sectional practices are offered, and recordings are provided to support practice on your own.
Rehearsals for the Fall/Winter Term will begin on September 9, 2024, at 6:30 pm at the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, room 163, 961 E 18th Ave. If you want to try us out, please come to one or both of our first two rehearsals ((September 9th and/or 16th) and see what fun it is to sing with us. You have nothing to lose, and you might just find a new community of amazing women.
The concert for the Fall/Winter Term will be held on Sunday afternoon, January 26, 2025. Please click on the Fall Calendar link below to learn more about our rehearsal schedule for the term.
In choosing the music for the Fall/Winter term, the Music Selection Committee focused primarily on music by female composers and writers. The major work for the term is “She Sang the Stars” by Sarah Quartel, which views the stages of womanhood through the Kaleval, a Finnish epic. Other pieces for the term include:
- “Ave Generosa” by Hildegard of Bingen
- “And Still I Rise” by Maya Angelou/Rosephanye Powell
- “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” by Cathy Winter/Betsy Rose/Marcia Taylor
- “Let the River Run” by Carly Simon
- “Measure Me Sky” by Elaine Hagenberg
- “The Moon is Distant from the Sea” words by Emily Dickinson
