Maud and H. B. Densmore Music Endowment Fund
Since 1944, the Women's Choral Society has offered a variety of student scholarships to exceptional students of music and voice, currently numbering greater than 100 awards over the years. We are now proud to offer scholarships each year to vocal performance students at the University of Oregon’s School of Music and Dance; through the Maud and H. B. Densmore Music Endowment Fund, administered by the University Of Oregon.
Our current recipients for 2025-2026 are senior Grace Miller, and freshman Tia Smith, both majoring in Music Education. Both express a desire for a future in teaching to share their talents and enthusiasm with future generations of students and singers.
Grace Miller

Grace is a repeat recipient (2022-present), and is currently studying under Dr. Karen Esquivel and Dr. Marie Landreth (Dr. Landreth was a WCS scholarship recipient in 1980 and 1981). We have had the immense pleasure of sharing the stage with Grace over the past few years, and especially last year's 2025 Winter Concert as she performed a solo in, "She Sang the Stars", and performed, in recital “Enfin je suis ici” from the opera Cendrillon by Jules Massenet (1842-1912).
Tia Smith
Tia is receiving her first award this year. She is studying with Dr. Camille Ortiz.
We are so pleased on behalf of both of these talented students and look forward with anticipation and pleasure at hearing their featured solo performances at the upcoming WCS Winter Concert (January 25, 2026).
